We are pleased to enclose the preliminary program to this year’s Pathologists’ Assistants Conference which is taking place in Calgary on Saturday, July 21 and on Sunday, July 22 at Theatre One, Health Sciences Centre (3330 Hospital Drive), Foothills Hospital Campus (1403 29 Street NW).

ACCOMMODATION
A block of guestrooms has been reserved at the Hotel Alma, University of Calgary, 169 University Gate NW. All participants are required to make their own accommodation arrangements. Reservation requests need to be called in, faxed or emailed to the Reservation department. There is no option for on-line bookings for groups. Please indicate “Canadian Association of Pathologists” when reserving your room. A major credit card must be provided by each guest to guarantee the reservation. Did you know that your choice of hotel for the Pathologists’ Assistants Conference has a direct impact on the Section? We must guarantee a minimum number of bedroom bookings by our delegates. Although we understand that making your reservation outside of the block can sometimes be more economical, it may cause the Section to pay attrition fees for unutilized rooms within the contracted room block. Please reserve your room by June 5, 2012.

Objectives/Mission:
The Section of Pathologists' Assistants within the Canadian Association of Pathologists is dedicated to establishing standards of professional ethics, education, and key competencies leading to national certification of Pathologists' Assistants. We promote and support excellent standards of practice, to ensure the highest quality of patient care in anatomic pathology.

Membership:
Members shall be members in good standing of the CAP regardless of their class of membership, provided they have expressed interest in matters pertaining to pathologist assistants.
